This song came to me in a dream about a year ago. I dreamt that Electric Light Orchestra had put out a previously unreleased concept album about a race car driver, and this was the lead single from this album. When I woke up I sung what I could remember about the song (the words and the melody) into my phone. The solo in my dream turned out to be one that a guitarist I knew had come up with for a different song I had written, so I took the ideas I remembered from my dream and used them to finish that song.
